DIWALI...PREPS

Diwali..hmm even the word makes us feel so happy. Well, i have always enjoyed diwali all these years. Since childhood, diwali reminds me cleaning up the hse, making cookies, murruku of course..joining hand with my mum.. but after her passing..i had missed all those..very much indeed. Evrytime i look at the sweet (achu) murukku, it would certainly bring back my memory with my mum, where we had so much fun making it..where i almost burnt my leg helping her..and yes, my mum's ever tasty jam tart..of all those i've eaten my mum's was the best.. but i surely can't inherit this talent of hers..the cleaning part would be exciting coz me n my bro would bet on each other of who gets to wash the porch, the kitchen and the backyard..there was nothing special, just we would play extra with the soap n water, for the sake of cleaning.. hehe. There was one diwali, where myself, my bro and my handsome cousin, back then, (vick), were playing the crackers (i guess it was POP POP) where one of the piece accidentally dropped inside his front short pocket, without realising it, he leaned down to take something and yes..it popped and his shirt had a hole.. hahaha.. we were to naive to get angry back then but were just amused all over.. yeah.. am sure everyone's childhood was fun..my most favourite part of diwali would be the eve..where i would be anxious to decorate my hse as i liked..my mum had me doing this, coz she knew somehow i would be busy without disturbing her in the kitchen hehe...well..you would just wanna jot down all those beautiful memories.. so, for this year my celebration would be rather simple as my wedding would be ard the corner. Compared to last year i baked some cookies, but this year i have opted to buy them as i have got to prepare things for the wedding and i certainly have no time to make them..for murruku, am teaming up with my mum in law to make this. we will be all geared up tomorrow.. hehe..shopping for baju, hmm was a bit here n there..got kurta's for my dad, bro, thaya n bro in law and sari for mum in law..for me, nothing much yet..hehe..coz i'll end up with a short n t-shirt since i'll be in the kitchen to do my specialities..hmm wait n see till i post it...so dearies, i guess its not too early to wish everyone a very happy diwali.. keep the spirit going on...

Shoppin' Spree

well well.. a fortnight ago, our inital plan was to buy saree's for Thaya's relatives, hence we shooted off early to Market St (Lil'India)..ma fav place in PG. Had our lunch at Karaikudi,..to enjoy the sumptous chichken/mutton briyani- pls do try this if at all come over to PG..then headed straight to Chennai Pothy's to begin our spree.. as we entered the shop, we were looking for sequence saree for Thaya's cousin sis and also his aunties.. after tired of bargaining, we went over to the front part of the shop, apparently to look see some wedding saree.. so happen, Thaya's eyes hooked to a lovely purple saree with pink embroided flowers in it..knowing our intention to see the saree more up close, the salesman, immediately suggested me to try on, and was giving compliements tht this color suits me..bla bla..so they eventually tied the saree on me, and to my suprise, it was really lovely..everyone liked it..so we asking for the best price, but they did now allow us to bargain much.. so we moved over to Gayathri's..WOW must i say tht it was packed and the saree's here are heavenly gorgeous... To my surprise again, we saw the same saree which we saw in Chennai Pothy's, here...and the price was pretty reasonable here...then the salesman, whom we had previously known him thru our past visits, showed us few other saree's..where they had Jothika's saree- lovely pink sequenced with embroidery..then Thaya again fell in love with this puplish pink "Aishwarya Rai" design wedding saree.. which i must say, was truly beautifull.. they had me wear a few saree before letting me decide which one to choose... after deep discussion..we finally chose the quote/unquote Aishwarya design saree...i saw this cheecky smile on Thaya's face when i had the saree on me..he looked happy, so did my mum in law and i loved it too...so there goes my wedding saree..which i would be wearing 2 months from now.. hehe.. and yes, back to our initial plan, we did buy all the sarees which we had planned and it took almost 6 hours to finally finish our shopping spree... huhu..

Saroja Sama Nikhalo..

Enjoyed every part of this movie..as much as i enjoyed Chennai 600028...PremG..oo simply superb..especially his act on the dreamland with his angels.. hehe.. songs are good, Yuvan's touch are simply irresistable to listen..esp Dosthe song..nice beat..so dearies, pls watch..

Teary Evening

I was certainly touched by this movie..obviously a recommendable one where everyone should watch it. Highly worth it.Yes, that’s exactly how Aamir Khan, debuting as director, and his creative team package the film, making a classic entertainer that does not bore a second at 18 reels on a subject as socially-vital as dyslexia. So all you ppl out there who think that social issues need dry and drab treatments get ready for Mr Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), a colourful arts teacher who believes that every child is special, whether dyslexic or physically- and mentally-challenged. The kid, played by Harsheel Daffary portrays as Ishaan as a clumsy, carefree, conventionally “duffer”, the trem being used in hindi and internally suffering Ishaan is completely justified.
Taare Zameen Par truly delights, touches, lifts up, instructs and motivates both such children and adults who have to deal with such offspring, students and kids in general..Just missed it in theathres, but thanks a million to Zee TV which aired at my prime time..

My Engagement

Well, my engagement was on 1st September 2007, exactly 1 year and 37 days to be accurate to this date. It was a pleasant and interesting evening, as it started off at 7pm. My anni, who did my bridal and make up arrangement, set a modern and contemporary style of hair do. The make up was not too heavy as i asked for it to be so. I was in a pink saree tied in a gujerati style...(its the current trend where the before and afer style comes). My hands were beautifully decorated by the mehndi by my expert- Krish Ka, who came a day ahead to had it on my hands and legs.
Anxious and nervous i was as the time was nearing. Thaya and family came ard 6.30pm to the temple as some of my relatives were there to recv them. The ritual process ended ard 8pm, and i was brought in the engagement saree to be tied on. It was a nerve wrecking moment to be honest as i was surrounded by almost 10 ppl inside the changing room.. goshh..I was brought out at ard 8.00pm, accompanied by Thaya's cousin sister, as the bridesmaid, followed by my cousins and friend...As i entered the temple, Thaya walked towards me and handed over a bouquet of roses, which i hadn't expect..another surprise..yet i managed to smile though i was freking nervous, but as i caught a glipmse of my beau, all the tension sorta flew away. I looked at him smiling and walking beside me.. finally after performing some rituals, we exchanged our rings by 8.15pm...with happines and joy filled in our hearts..blessings from relatives and friends.. it was one of my memorable days..and am certainly preparing for my next agenda which will be my wedding..hehe...
